I would like to thank Pat Muller for having Jon Lowry of Lowry Engineering do a presentation on the residential development west of I-29. Jon, thanks for making the trip up from Fargo to give an informative presentation. Pat has decided to name the new development River Walk since recreational areas are being planned into the development. I think Jon’s presentation will help the City of Hillsboro to focus on keeping this development on the fast track so that building can begin next spring. There are two PDF’s that will be linked here so that the community can check out our future opportunity for growth. The development will provide housing opportunities for everything from high density housing to million dollar homes on the river, it will also have some commercial space for development. Continue to check the website for future updates on River Walk! ![]()

I would like to say thank you to Pat Muller and his team at Total Ag for hosting the Drone Uses for Ag Roadshow last Friday. The food was provided by the Hillsboro Café, Subway, and Millers. I would like to give them a big shout-out also. There were about 50 people that came out to see how small UAS systems could help farmers in the digital ag operations of the future. It was truly a real world example of how manned aircraft and small UAS could operate cooperatively. We had two spray planes flying south of Hillsboro/Total Ag and one actually flew over the crowd as we stood outside waiting for our flight demonstrations. After the manned aircraft had left the area, three small UAS systems took to the air to show how they operated. I would also like to thank John Nowatzki and his NDSU pilots for demonstrating their systems, especially the rotary spaying system. Trevor Witt from KSU coordinated this demonstration and is doing the same presentation in six other states as part of this National Science Foundation Grant. It was a great event and we were happy to host it in Hillsboro.
